01 / The challenge

What the project needed to resolve

Shady Rest Country Club remained in use while its preservation team worked to restore and bring additional spaces back into service. The preservation architect needed materials that could communicate the building’s significance, show the potential of those spaces, and support fundraising for the ongoing work.

02 / The contribution

How the work addressed the question

Working for Barton Ross & Partners, LLC Architects, Causeway developed interior concepts, visualizations, and marketing collateral that connected the country club’s history with the spaces being considered for restoration. The materials brought its people, cultural significance, and future uses into a clear story for prospective supporters.

03 / The deliverables

What the assignment produced

  • Interior concepts and visualizations
  • Place narrative and restoration messaging
  • Fundraising and supporter-facing collateral
  • Historic context and property imagery

04 / The next decision

What the work made clearer

The preservation team gained a more tangible way to explain what further restoration could make possible. By pairing the country club’s story with interior concepts and clear supporting materials, the work gave fundraising conversations a stronger visual and narrative foundation.
